The President's Letter
George Brookhart President
This month I have two topics to discuss: giving support to our local businesses, and networking opportunities.
The weak economy has hurt many of our local businesses as much as it has hurt us all, but the recent record snowfalls have hurt them even more.
Our local businesses are the heart and soul of our community. I know times have been difficult for us all but when you are thinking about going out to dinner, having a business meeting, meeting with a client, dinner with friends and family or making your next purchase, I encourage you to patronize our local businesses. The snow is melting so let’s all get out and celebrate - Catonsville has many places to hold your celebrations!
Secondly, I have found networking as my top source of new & continued business. I think it is important for all of us in the business world to get out and make contact with new people and possibly new clients. It really works and it is inexpensive.
The Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce offers you many opportunities to meet new people or to reinforce relationships with old friends and clients. Attend our many events and be sure that you introduce yourself to as many new people as possible.
On March 10th the Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce will be host to the Mega-Networking event just down the street at the Rolling Road Golf Club. It is a beautiful site and the event will attract well over 100 business people.
I encourage all of our members to attend…you’ll be demonstrating to the rest of the world that Catonsville has a strong and supportive business community and you’ll be connecting to prospective new clients. It’s fun, it’s easy and it’s inexpensive.
Go to www.catonsville.org to register -- and do it today, because space is limited! Don’t forget bring plenty of business cards. I look forward to seeing you there.
