2017 Outstanding Teacher Awards

The Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for their 2017 "Outstanding Teacher Awards."

Students, parents, fellow teachers, and community members are encouraged to nominate teachers, individuals and organizations they believe have made an outstanding impact on education. Winners will be recognized at an evening reception to be held at CCBC Catonsville Center for the Arts, Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 5:30 p.m.

Who is Eligible for Nomination?
• Baltimore County teachers within the Greater Catonsville Chamber catchment area
• Individuals or organizations supporting Baltimore County public or private schools
• Collaborative teams supporting Baltimore County public or private schools

Criteria to be considered:
Nominees will be rated on the degree that they demonstrate excellence in education in the following four (4) areas:
1. Demonstration of commitment to student success and love for learning
2. Exhibition of the quality and/or innovation of an educational program or entity
3. Demonstration of supportive and caring attitude toward students
4. Demonstration of support for the school mission and vision

Deadlines:
The deadline for the submission of all nominations is February 24, 2017 Nominations received after this date will not be considered. Hand delivered or emailed nominations must be received by 5:00PM. Award Categories:

TEACHER CATEGORY

Outstanding Teacher Award Finalist

This award recognizes outstanding educators in Elementary, Middle, and High School. Principals will select one candidate from the nominations to represent their school. All finalists will receive a certificate, a ticket to the event, and recognition.

Catonsville Chamber Teacher of the Year Award (Elementary, Middle, High)

This award is the highest educational award given by the Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce. The recipient is selected from the pool of finalists of "Outstanding Teacher Awards" within their respective educational level; Elementary, Middle, and High. These award winners are selected by the Chamber. Winners receive an Apple Award, a ticket to the event, an iPad donated from McDonald's – Catonsville and $500 to spend in their classroom.

INDIVIDUAL/ORGANIZATION CATEGORY

(For example: PTA, Cafeteria Staff, Rotary Club)
Finalists are chosen by the schools. Award winners are selected by the Chamber. All finalists will receive a certificate, a ticket to the event, and recognition. Winners, additionally, receive an apple award.

Distinguished Service Award

This award recognizes outstanding service by an individual or organization that makes a significant contribution to advancing the work of Education in reaching K‐12 level educators, schools, and students.

Teams that Make A Difference Award

This award recognizes teams of any kind; teachers, administrators, parents, community members, or any combination of these individuals that have made a significant and innovative contribution to advancing the work of Education.
