Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce Internships

The Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce is hiring for part-time, unpaid interns to support the work of the organization. All majors are welcome. Please note: Our internships are unpaid and are for school credit only, but we are very flexible and will work with your school and work schedule. Interns are welcome to work between 5-10 hours per week. Our office is located at 757 Frederick Rd and is on the UMBC Transit bus line. 

Public Relations & Social Media
We are seeking a self-motivated intern with strong knowledge and understanding of digital media to play a significant role in implementing our social media strategy, launching email campaigns, and tracking analytics for the Chamber’s various social media platforms and website. The social media and marketing intern will provide feedback on how to deliver impactful messaging across platforms and have an opportunity to develop original content for the 75th anniversary celebration of the Catonsville Chamber of Commerce.

Marketing ​& Event Planning
We are seeking a creative, resourceful, and talented individual interested in marketing and event planning. You’ll gain real-world experience planning events of all sizes, including our community events such as the Arts & Crafts Festival, Sunday Farmers Market, our annual holiday party, and member-focused networking and informational events. You will have an opportunity to participate in grassroots marketing, including distribution of materials and creating relationships with local businesses to promote events.

Government Affairs & Policy
The government affairs and public policy intern will gain firsthand experience learning about impactful issues facing the business community on the local, state and federal levels. You’ll also assist with research and development for the Government Relations Committee in preparation for the 90-day Maryland General Assembly. As the government relations intern, you will be part of a team involved with planning local forums for elected officials.
